Here is from an article published in the Oregon Historical Monthly called Desegregation and Multiculturalism in the Portland Public Schools: (A History of 1859-1975) by: Ethan Johnson and Felicia Williams, which was published three years ago. A harrowing read, but essential in understanding the history of the North/Inner NE Portland schools over the decades. Here you can find the snippets that pertain to the Jefferson cluster, but if you have time, you really should read the whole thing.
